Azhagiya Thamizh Magan goes on set today
Bharathan had written the dialogues for Gilli. Vijay had liked the story Bharathan had narrated to him then and went on to give his call sheet for the film. The shooting starts today.
The film is produced by Appachan's Swargachitra. During Friends, Appachan had asked for Vijay's call sheet as well as given him advance for the next project. What started a few years ago, finally finds fruit in Azhagiya Thamizh Magan now. After Udaya, AR Rehman composes music for Vijay's film now. Camera is by Balasubramaniam.
Anthony does the film coortdination and Fefsi Vijayan composes the stunt scenes. Bharathan has a proper script in place and is starting shooting with firm ideas.
So it could well be that Azhagiya Thamizh Magan will also be a competitor for Sivaji and Dasavataram.

His determination and self-confidence have brought him the laurels. Vijay comes from a family which has strong experience in the film industry. Father, S. A. Chandrasekaran is a popular director and mother Shoba is an accomplished playback singer. Vijay has a soft corner for anyone who answers to the name Vidya for it is the name of his sister who died when she was just two. He made his debut as a child artiste in the film, Vetri. His first film as hero was Nalaiya theerpu. He has acted in 48 films so far. Films like Rasigan, Senthurappandi and Deva made him the badshah of B and C centres while Kadhalukku mariyadhai, Poove unakkaga, Once more, Gilli, etc. made his appeal sore among the urban audience.
He is the youngest actor to have won the MGR award from the Tamil Nadu Government and Kalaimamani title. His inspiration are MGR’s Nadodi mannan, Rajini’s Annamalai and Vijayakanth’s Sattam oru iruttarai and Vanathaippola.
Vijay is talented in all aspects of acting like dance, action and emoting. He has worked with perseverance to hone his skills and prove his detractors wrong. At 31, he is the youngest star to have completed 48 films and already there is competition about who would produce his 50th film.
Vijay has excellent rapport with his peers Ajith, Prasanth and Surya.A shy and intensely private person, Vijay has steered clear of any controversy. He is happily married to London-born Sangeetha. They have a son, Jason Sanjay and a just-born daughter. A total family man, he prefers spending his free time with his wife and kids and can only be rarely seen in filmi gatherings. He is an accomplished sportsperson who can play basketball, football, cricket and volleyball. He plumps for idli and dosa with coriander chutney and hogs on seafood, chicken, tandoori and Chinese dishes.
There were several pinpricks about his appearance and doubts about his talent. He has steadily strode to thrash them out and today is a leading star with mass appeal. Behind the smile is the sweat of perseverance.
Events Galore in September
September 23rd 2006: Felicitation function for CM Karunanidhi organised by Tamil Film Industry
September 11th, 2006: Surya-Jyothika Wedding attended by Vijay and Sangeetha
Shobha Chandrasekhar’ s praise for Asin
No it is not the Italian, Chinese or continental cuisine that is keeping the lead lady of top heroes fit and healthy. You would be surprised to note what Asin’s favorite food is. It is fish curry and biriyani – cooked by none other than Shoba Chandrasekhar - you guessed it right, Vijay’s mother. Favorite food cooked by a top hero’s mother – a rare combination to find indeed. Not many would have the luck to share a very good rapport with Vijay’s mother. It seems to be Asin’s turn now after Trisha.Shoba Chadrasekhar is all praises for Asin and she loves Asin’s smile –every one of us do as well. The other aspect that seemed to have bonded the relationship is Asin’s simplicity. Well we are sure Shoba has reasons to state so.After sharing screen space with Vijay in a couple of hits, it is Asin’s turn again to cast opposite him in Prabhudeva’s Pokkiri. Asin seemed to have been in a sabbatical for a while and is back again with a bang.
Pokiri Movie Launch
After almost six months, it was action, start, camera for Vijay. The actor's Pokiri being directed by Prabhudeva hit the floors. A remake of Telugu blockbuster, Pokiri stars Asin opposite him.A host of celebrities including director S A Chandrasekhar, producer-director Rama Narayanan, Prakash Raj took part in a function held on Thursday. Vijay’s mom Shobana clapped the movie to a start.
ikanth's formula. So it should come as small surprise that Vijay has evinced interest in doing a Rajini movie as a remake. As everyone knows, today's fad is to remake and re-interpret hits of yesteryear.Bollywood has started the trend. There is a talk of Tamil movies too following suit.Among Rajini's hits, Billa and Thee are billed to be remade again. In this context, Vijay, asked by a Tamil newspaper, has specifically said that if Rajini's blockbuster Mur
attu Kalai is remade, he would want to play the title role.In a sense, it is also apt that somebody like Vijay, who has a mass following, take up the mantle of Rajinikanth.

Category: Yamadonga movie, Jr Ntr - Written by Vijay Reddy - Posted On: September 28th, 2007
Jr. NTR’s lastest smash hit Yamadonga is going to be re-made in tamil in few months time. Tamil producers are forming a bee-line before Rajamouli’s and Cherry’s office in Hyderabad to buy the re-make rights of the movie. But nothing has been fixed yet.
Tamil star ‘Ilayadalapathi’ Vijay has watched the movie recently in a special screening of Yamadonga movie and speaking on this occassion said that he was intrested to the same movie in Tamil. He also said that though tamil audience are not experienced with such concepts and subjects, they would surely accept this movie and also will make it a super duper hit. Hero Vijay is famous for remaking telugu movies into tamil and making them big hits. Most of these remake hits made a big star in tamil film industry.
We will have to wait and see what Yamadonga is going to do for Vijay. Yamadonga might be titled as Yamathiruda in Tamil. Thiruda means donga in tamil.
